Project: Open Case: Final Pay Reconciliation Dispute

PHC Status Report at 16 April 2026

This project documents a real-world dispute concerning a final salary reconciliation and alleged overpayment following employment termination. It is presented as an open, structured case study to examine the evidence, communications, and processes involved. The aim is to provide transparency, highlight common areas of misunderstanding or weak governance, and support fair resolution through clear, evidence-based review.

While based on a single case, the issues explored may reflect challenges experienced by many employees. The materials, concerns, and responses are shared to help others better understand their position, ask informed questions, and engage constructively when faced with similar situations.

[+] Project Summary

This project has been created as an open case study around a disputed final salary reconciliation following the end of employment. It begins with one real case in which an alleged overpayment was claimed from a departing employee, despite questions arising over the calculation, supporting records, holiday reconciliation, and the fairness of the follow-up process. Rather than treating the matter as a private disagreement only, this project applies the Project Health Control (PHC) approach to organise the correspondence, identify the key concerns, and make the reasoning visible in a structured and accessible way.

The purpose of the project is not simply to argue one individual case, but to create a practical reference point for others who may face similar disputes. Many employees may receive repayment demands, threatening letters, or unclear explanations at the point of leaving a company, without understanding what a reasonable response looks like. By presenting documents, concerns, commentary, and invitations for clarification in an open format, this project aims to encourage fair treatment, evidence-based review, and better awareness of what can amount to administrative pressure or employee bullying when not properly governed.
