About Us
FFECL (Flora and Fauna Environmental Conservation Limited) is a Ugandan NGO founded by Evelyn Namuwolo, dedicated to sustainable agriculture and community empowerment. Through her innovative farming methods, Evelyn is transforming local agriculture by maximizing yield, minimizing waste, and creating new value chains from what would otherwise be discarded. Her work not only provides food security but also creates economic opportunities for farmers and rural communities. With support from the PHC Service, FFECL is demonstrating how small-scale farming can be turned into a zero-waste, revenue-generating enterprise that benefits both the farmers and the environment to mitigate climate change. The we see in FFECL is how the child changes when not feed well. How an old person goes weak he is not supported. So FFECL aims to support those who can't support themselves by constructing small homes ,and also supporting mother by traing them to grow nutrional food for feeding their children.
Our Mission
Our mission is to revolutionize small-scale farming in Uganda by implementing sustainable, zero-waste agricultural practices that increase profitability, protect the environment, and uplift local communities. We are committed to turning agricultural waste into economic value, ensuring that every farmer has access to the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to transform their harvest into a thriving business.
Our Vision
At FFECL, we envision a future where agriculture goes beyond food production—it becomes a sustainable, zero-waste industry that empowers communities and drives economic transformation. Our goal is to establish a model where every part of a harvested crop is utilized, generating income and creating employment. By pioneering this approach in Uganda, we aim to set an example for farmers across Africa, proving that innovative agricultural practices can lead to sustainable livelihoods and environmental conservation.
Core Objectives
- Promote Zero-Waste Farming: Develop and implement processes that turn agricultural byproducts into valuable products such as textiles, body care products, and biofertilizers.
- Enhance Economic Opportunities: Provide training and infrastructure support for small-scale farmers to expand their businesses beyond just selling raw produce. Partner with other local farmers to expand the reach and impact of zero-waste agricultural practices.
- Community Empowerment: Create employment opportunities within rural communities by developing small-scale agro-processing industries.
- AEnvironmental Sustainability: Reduce agricultural waste through innovative processing methods, ensuring a cleaner and more sustainable farming environment.
Our Impact
- Working Farm Production: Evelyn Namuwolo’s work is already making a tangible difference. On her 12-acre farm, she has dedicated 5 acres to pineapples, with the goal of extracting maximum value from every part of the fruit.
- Production Process in Place: She is currently working on three key byproducts—yarn from pineapple fibers for clothing, body lotion from pineapple acid extracts, and vinegar from pineapple peels and cores.
- Local Employment: Her work is proving that what was once considered waste can be turned into valuable commodities that generate income and provide employment for local workers.
- Inspiring Partnerships: Additionally, by collaborating with other farmers, Evelyn is helping to scale these practices, creating a ripple effect across Uganda’s agricultural sector.

PHC Service for NGOs
A New Standard for Humanitarian Funding
Our organisation is one of a growing number of PHC Service Approved Social Enterprises. This means we align with the PHC Service humanitarian principle, ensuring that donor funds go directly to the causes they are meant to support, without diversion to administrative costs.
Unlike traditional funding models where NGO operators rely on a percentage of donations for their livelihood, PHC Service introduces a fairer, more transparent approach. Our team members are rewarded for their dedication through the PHC Service Share-out system, which compensates them based on the time and effort they invest in managing and delivering impactful projects.
This model ensures that every donation is fully utilized for its intended purpose, while those who drive meaningful change receive ethical and sustainable recognition for their contributions.
