Concern #268 - First Training Course as Programme Template

Project:
386 - TTGD 4 Healthy Eco Homes

Person:
David Winter (1)

Description:
There is concern about effective use of the Uganda training course as a blueprint for all future EcoSociety training events. The goal is to capture best practices, document processes, and set quality standards for housing, materials, food, and accommodation support.

Desired Outcome:
The Uganda training course delivers a successful model that can be replicated across all EcoSociety locations, with local adaptations for housing materials, food, and accommodation.

What Could Go Wrong:
If this first course fails to set a clear, effective standard, future courses will lack structure and risk inconsistent quality across EcoSociety locations.

Current Situation:
he first training course is scheduled for one month in Uganda, serving as the pilot for the Healthy Eco Housing programme across multiple EcoSocieties.

Action Strategy:
Plan, monitor, and document all processes thoroughly to create a repeatable template for subsequent training courses in other locations.

Comments for this Concern Item

The concern about is very? valid. To avoid this, Uganda m?ust not only deliver a successf?ul training bu?t als?o ensure every process is w?ell? documented and adaptable. Both the strengths and th?e sho?rtcomings will be v?aluable in shaping a re?peatable model. From Niger?ia’s team perspective, readiness goes b?eyond techn?ical? skills to include community engagement, resour?ce al?ig?nment, and sustainabl?e? follow-?up.? This makes the follow up venue, an? ideal next context to test and? refine the EcoSocie?ty blueprint, ensuring it works across diverse cultu?ral and ec?onomic realiti?e?s.

The Uganda training course offers a chance to set a benchmark for all Funding Ready training going forward.
To maximize its value, its important that every process, from planning and delivery to housing, food, and community support, is well documented. This will allow us to create a repeatable standard that guides all future training, while still leaving room for adaptation to local contexts. Eco building will be one subset of this broader model, and its success will depend on the same clarity and adaptability in approach.
Importantly, the lessons learned from any shortcomings in Uganda will be just as valuable as the successes, since nothing is ever absolutely perfect and, these will strengthen the model for future Funding Ready
