Project:
503
Description:
Human Rights Kiosks are at risk of being deployed before essential technical, privacy, consent, maintenance, and referral controls are fully established. This could lead to sensitive information involving minors being mishandled or exposed.
Desired Outcome:
No kiosk is deployed until its anonymity model, data route, safeguarding escalation process, technical maintenance, physical security, and school responsibilities are proven.
What Could Go Wrong:
Children use a kiosk to report serious harm, but reports are not routed safely, confidentiality is compromised, or no timely response follows.
Current Situation:
The kiosk concept is powerful, but it is not yet costed, designed, or operationally controlled, posing a risk to data security and child safety.
Action Strategy:
Treat kiosks as a separate technical and safeguarding sub-project. Begin with feasibility, privacy design, escalation mapping, and pilot testing before procurement or installation.
