Project:
503
Description:
Teachers lack standardised safeguarding tools, which may prevent them from recognising early warning signs of abuse, responding appropriately, and following consistent reporting workflows. This gap could lead to missed opportunities to protect children and ensure their safety.
Desired Outcome:
Teachers in pilot schools are equipped with practical safeguarding tools to identify risks early, respond calmly, and escalate concerns safely.
What Could Go Wrong:
Educators may miss signs of abuse, misinterpret behavioural changes, silence children unintentionally, or respond in ways that increase risk.
Current Situation:
The project aims to train 3,000 teachers, but the training package, diagnostic toolkit, and reporting workflow need to be defined.
Action Strategy:
Develop a comprehensive teacher safeguarding pack covering warning signs, safe response, referral rules, confidentiality, mandatory reporting, and boundaries of teacher responsibility.
